Christmas is nearer!
“The birth of Jesus is a birth with a message. It takes the entire Bible to bring the complete message, but this birth is the core of it: In Jesus, God is here to give us life, real life.†- Eugene H. Peterson “Let all mortal flesh keep silence, and with fear and trembling stand; Ponder nothing earthly-minded, for with blessing in His hand, Christ our God to earth descendeth, our full homage to demand.†- Gerard Moultrie “Man’s maker was made man that He, Ruler of the stars, might nurse at His mother’s breast; that the Bread might hunger, the Fountain thirst, the Light sleep, the Way be tired on its journey; that Truth might be accused of false witnesses, the Teacher be beaten with whips, the Foundation be suspended on wood; that Strength might grow weak; that the Healer might be wounded; that Life might die.†- Saint Augustine

Preacher: Sijin Yang CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 132:1-7 1Remember, O Lord, in David’s favor, all the hardships he endured, 2how he swore to the Lord and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, 3“I will not enter my house or get into my bed, 4I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, 5until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.†6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. 7“Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool!†
SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news! 1 John 1:5-7 “5…God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.†PRAYER OF ADORATION
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day #50 – PRAYER 125. What is the fourth petition? “Give us this day our daily bread;†that is, be pleased to provide for all our bodily need,[1] so that we may thereby acknowledge that Thou art the only fountain of all good,[2] and that without Thy blessing neither our care and labor, nor Thy gifts, can profit us;[3] that we may therefore withdraw our trust from all creatures and place it alone in Thee.[4] [1] Ps. 104:27-28; 145:15-16; Mt. 6:25-26. an enduring principle of tithing of our gross income as the baseline for the Christian’s worship through giving (2 Cor 9:7; Malachi 3:8-10). If every church member gave 10%, we would have enough financial resources for all the gospel ministry God is calling our church to do. Let the Spirit guide you in all final matters.
